OUR STORY
It started with a thokku everyone wanted to take home.
Aadhini Home Made began in a family kitchen in Thanjavur, the rice bowl of Tamil Nadu. The recipes are the ones we grew up with: thokku stirred slowly in wood-pressed gingelly oil, podi roasted by hand until the aroma fills the house, and a puliyodharai that tastes like temple prasadam.
We still cook in small batches, using kudampuli and marachekku gingelly oil, with no chemicals or preservatives. Each jar is packed fresh and sent from Thanjavur to homes across India and abroad, so wherever you are, you can still taste home.
Our thokku had a fan following among friends, family and relatives, and every visit ended with someone asking for a jar to take home. Today, in our third year, we still cook every batch the same way we always have at home.
